A recently created kitchen for a beautiful country home just out side of San Francisco in Wine Country. Lucky for them they are not far from Dean & Deluca where they can shop for the ingredients for their menu planning in their new Kitchen created by our truly; Closet Innovations / Innovative Design Group.

The kitchen cabinetry was custom designed and manufactured by hand in our shop in Rohnert Park using quality stained wood and topping it off with granite. The variation in the wood by it's own nature makes for a beautiful look in this kitchen.

Oxbow Public Market is one of my favorite places in Napa. I went there yesterday to grab a cup of the best coffee I have ever tasted at Rituals and the place was very crowded. I was happy to see their businesses of unique food boutiques doing so well. I came back today to have some delicious Sonoma Duck at the Fatted Cow.

Chicken feet and chicken bones are an excellent source for healthy nutrition if in moderation.

It is full of cartilage-building proteins and amino acids we all need. Given to dogs raw, help clean their teeth and builds cartilage in their joints. People although can not assimilate the bones raw or cooked, but in a well cooked broth humans can gain the benefits of this gelatin broth.

Brendan Brazier's Amazing Protein Bars 0r Balls

This is great for high energy before or after a good or rather great workout. I know it does not look like much but they are amazing for a good steady stable energy boost and in between healthy snack.

Ingredients

1 cup fresh or soaked dried dates
1/4 cup almonds
1/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup roasted carob powder (or cocoa to make 100% raw)
1/4 cup ground flax seeds
1/4 cup hemp protein powder
1/4 cup unhulled sesame seeds
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. lemon zest
Sea salt to taste
1/cup sprouted or cooked buckwheat (optional)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries.

In a food processor, process all ingredients except the buckwheat and blueberries until desired texture is reached. Need buckwheat and berries into mixture by hand. Make into a 1 3/4 ounce bars or bars

Animal In Translation by Temple Grandin is much to do with how we treat our animals that we eat. She is an expert and adviser to the meat industry. How Doctors Think by Jerome Goopman, M.D., highlights a little as to how we get so sick in what we eat.

The other books are obvious to their content and important to read to support our health. My reading of these books assists me in keeping on my track of staying healthy. I have never gone on a diet, I just educate my self over and over again to remind me of my choices of food, energy and what bad foods will eventually do to my life.

Quintessa Winery

The top photo is a small view of the pantry and storage room I designed for Quintessa Winery here in Napa Valley. On the other side from this view we stored all the pouring wines on adjustable high quality recycled wood coated with melamine shelving. In this photo one can see where Quintessa Winery staff will store the supplies for the water and cheeses that they serve with the wine. Here is also where we built a space for their new refrigerator topped with stainless steel counter that can be sanitized upon cleaning up. It is fun to be able to see behind the scenes of our great Napa Valley wineries. Napa is not just grapes and wines, it's hard work in every aspect. So enjoy our wines and keep us all working - support California...

Rabbi Yehuda Ferris of the Chabad of Berkeley arranged a fun gathering to celebrate the opening of the new Amba Restaurant in Montclair Village in the Oakland hills. The food was amazing. I have always had to wait to get to Los Angeles to eat a good falafel, now we have one closer at home and it is Kosher.
